Who is Deniz Akdoğan?

Holding a Master’s degree in Engineering Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Deniz Akdoğan has over 20 years of experience in world-class production management, continuous improvement, operational efficiency enhancement, and building and leading high-performing teams. He is recognized for his leadership in developing strategies aligned with corporate visions and objectives within international companies.

Describing his career as an “exciting journey” since the very first day he entered professional life, Akdoğan began his career in 2006 as a Production & Planning Engineer at Bosch. He later held roles in production, process, and project engineering at Elginkan Holding, Indesit, and Standart Profil. In 2011, he joined Tetra Pak’s İzmir plant as a Production Project Engineer and served in various roles in production management and continuous improvement until 2016. In 2015, as Continuous Improvement Executive and WCM Steering Committee Member, he played a critical role in minimizing process losses and enhancing efficiency, making significant contributions to the company’s receipt of the JIPM World Class and Advanced Special Awards.

From 2016 to 2018, Deniz Akdoğan led FAT and packaging production, quality control, and process improvement activities at Schneider Electric, where he successfully enhanced team performance and achieved significant process improvements.

In 2018, he joined Segezha Packaging, Europe’s second-largest industrial paper bag manufacturer, as Plant Manager and was soon promoted to General Manager. During this period, he managed the company’s restructuring process following its sale to a European investor (Advanced Industries Packaging) and later oversaw the rebranding of the company as İzmir Kraft Torba Ambalaj after its acquisition by a Turkish investor.

Throughout his tenure, he led all commercial activities, investments, production programs, logistics processes, and quality standards. Under his leadership, the company’s market share in Turkey increased from 5% to 12%, and production efficiency improved by 30% over the years through continuous improvement efforts.

 

Since 2024, Akdoğan has been serving as General Manager at MVT Elektrik Magvatech Türkiye, a global designer, manufacturer, and supplier of medium-voltage circuit breakers and reclosers. In this role, he has increased the workforce by 70% within a year, leading organizational growth and expansion into local and global markets.

Throughout his career, he has designed and implemented systems that deliver competitive advantage by eliminating unnecessary processes in line with lean production principles and global trends. By prioritizing profitability, revenue growth, and employee satisfaction, he has consistently elevated the companies he has led. His passion for continuous learning and his people-centered leadership approach have been the cornerstones of his success.

Deniz Akdoğan is also actively involved in various non-governmental organizations and advisory boards. He currently serves as a Board Member of the Turkish Quality Association (KalDer) İzmir Branch and is a member of the Corporate Governance Association of Turkey, the Turkish Education Association, the Aegean Beşiktaş Congress Members Association, and the Industrial Advisory Board for the Faculty of Engineering and Mechatronics Engineering at İzmir Katip Çelebi University.
